Rogalik The Rogue Prince of Persia has received the largest content update since Steam Early Access.
The most notable innovation of a fresh patch is the global processing of the visual component. Here’s what the developers of Evil Empire say about it:
Since the launch, we have received quite a lot of negative reviews about the game’s decoration: you said that it is too simple, too cartoon, similar to a flash game and so on.
Although “art” is a subjective concept, and we could write an essay about how we talked and argued about the change in style, it’s easier to say that we just chose the failed visual for an action game. We believe that this prevented a significant number of people from trying our project. Obviously, we want people to play our game, and that’s why we changed it. It’s a game from early access, and we believe that at this stage you can not just add small features and rule some elements, but also make significant changes to existing content if necessary.
We added much more details, more visual storytellation, reworked the color palette and much more. We have retained the former “drawed” style, but made it more “military” and dark, which is better suited to the plot, setting, genre and the series itself Prince of Persia. We are very pleased with the result and hope that you too! We are sorry to disappoint fans of the old style, but we believe that this change is the best choice for the game.
And yes, the Prince is no longer purple. The reasons for this are the same as for general changes. In addition, it looked strange against the background of new art design. Rest in peace, brave warrior (Rest In Purple).

In addition to improving the schedule, the update offers:
- Seven new localizations are Russian, Polish, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Korean and Japanese.
- The second story and various improvements of the first act.
- Two new biomes are gold mines and craftsmen.

Soon the authors will share the content support plan for 2025. So far, they have only warned that interested gamer has the last chance to buy the game at a reduced price – The Rogue Prince of Persia will rise in price after the winter sale on Steam.
