Elden Ring Director Khidetaka Miyazaki hinted at new FromSoftware projects

The head of FromSoftware and Elden Ring director Hidetaka Miyazaki apologized to fans of the studio for the long wait for the DLC Shadow of the Erdtree, which came out this summer, but pleased with the news that the studio is already working on “different new projects”.

Yesterday, Shadow of the Erdtree received the Golden Joystick Awards as “Best Game Extension”. Miyazaki, although unable to attend in person, recorded an appeal, where he thanked the fans for their support, calling the award an “incredible honor”.

I have to sincerely apologize for the long wait more than two years since the release of the main game before we were able to release this DLC. However, getting such a prestigious award brings me a lot of relief. I am deeply grateful to all the players who have enjoyed the main game and the addition.

Miyazaki also expressed gratitude to the team that worked on the game and its expansion, adding that the “huge support” of Elden Ring became an inspiration for the studio:

We are now working on various new projects, and I hope you are looking forward to what we are preparing for you.

What projects are in development, Miyazaki did not specify, but in February he reported that FromSoftware “does not plan to produce a second DLC or aicle” for Elden Ring, but did not rule that this could change in the future.

As for a full-fledged new game, then, most likely, FromSoftware will release it only in a few years.
