In two months, the shooter Star Wars: Republic Commando

celebrates its 20th anniversary. Two decades is a huge period in the industry, so for some time, a group of fans has been developing a modification to improve this classic so that it better meets modern standards. The result of their work is a modification called SWRC Remaster. It recently received a major update.

As the name suggests, the mod serves as an unofficial remaster. The project replaces the game’s textures with new ones, made in higher resolution and offering more details. It also improves many models, some gameplay elements, and introduces support for high widescreen resolutions. If desired, you can also use a special configuration of the Reshade package, which adjusts colors and enhances some visual effects.

The new version of the SWRC Remaster is numbered 1.8, and the scale of the changes makes it the largest update in the history of this modification.

  • Many aspects of the interface were manually redesigned to better match the game running in high resolutions.
