Tom Henderson: Battlefield 2042 Devs Want to Avoid Failure with Large-Scale Testing

Reputable insider Tom Henderson has revealed how the development of Battlefield 2042 is progressing. According to him, the studio is afraid that the new part of the franchise will repeat the fate of Battlefield V and Battlefield 2042 and fail miserably right at the start. To avoid this, the developers are conducting the largest tests in the history of the series:

Sources say that playtests involving third-party players are happening far more frequently than in previous games, and the amount of data and feedback collected is the largest in the franchise’s history. From small feedback sessions to large-scale player tests, Battlefield is now taking a “player first” approach.

Will this help EA and DICE? Henderson doesn’t have a clear answer. On the one hand, gamers are missing quality games in the Battlefield series. But on the other, there are more and more competitors every year.

There’s still about a year left until the release of Battlefield 2042.
